Humanitarian Assistance

Humanitarian Assistance

From time to time, there has been a need of helping out Nepalese community members. Be it in an event of medical urgency in Australia or some humanitarian assistance back in Nepal or other countries, NAA and Nepalese community members have always been willing to contribute their bit in all such events where possible.

What we have done.

  • Donated $500 to the landslide disaster recovery efforts in Nepal (Aug 2014).
  • Donated $630 ($130 collected from the public) to the Nepalese students caught in the car accident (Jan 2008).
  • Donated $550 to the “Save Dolma Sherpa” fund that will be used in the campaign to save her life (Mar 2008).
  • Donated $500 and raised another $4600 for¬†humanitarian¬†purpose in Sydney (August 2008).
  • Donated $1000 towards the operation of a Nepali who fell ill and needed an immediate treatment in the hospital.
  • Provided moral and counseling support to a young Nepali visitor who became mentally unstable soon after his arrival in Sydney
  • Wrote six supporting letters to members of Nepali community on various circumstances and issues.
  • Donated A$500 to Lions Eye Care Center in Kathmandu.
  • Donated A$500 to a School in Makwanpur for renovation of school building.

NAA would not have been in such a position to help those in need without the help of Nepalese community members. We encourage you to register with us. Spreading the word can sometime be the best thing we can do when there’s a need.
